Note 93:

The curiously worded phrase that Mahādev here speaks to Sītā also occurs in the life histories (paṛelīs) that local oracles (dhāmīs) recite when possessed, the only such overlap that I have found in the oral material of these two distinct ritual specialists. The phrase is also found in Gumān's Nine Little Sisters, III.11. A more literal translation might be "Sunshine roasted me, thirst parched me," but local listeners hear an echo of ghumāunu, "to cause to wander," and pisāb garnu, "to make water," so I have tried to blur the difference.
