kamsa rānī In Karṇa Vīr's version, and those of other shamans, this is not rānī but Ravan, the lord of Laṅ–kā who abducts Sitā, whose name can be used to imply a very great demon, just as kamsa can mean any fearful demon, one that feasts on human flesh, not just Kṛṣṇa's uncle.
