kaun kāj Hindi, as would be appropriately used locally, to address a stranger, one who would more likely understand Hindi than the local Nepali, in which the phrase would be "kaitho kām," confusing to outsiders.In this dictated version, the verbs are in the third person, but since this is commonly used in Jājarkoṭ for the second person, and since the second person conjugation was actually used in the performed version of this text (above), I have translated throughout into the second person, which also fits the context better (I also do this elsewhere when appropriate).
