Whenever any patient has a crisis, when the Wheel of Time strikes, after astrologers and oracles have been consulted, then when we throw off the crisis, one oracle, shaman, assistant [swāryā: the person who prepares the food offerings; of less status than a pujārī], attendant, whoever, when that "garamsālā" strikes, then, "garamsālā" means that consulting, consulting spirits, they stumble on the spirit's land, then it is that spirit's "garamsālā." Now, "How does one raise that spirit?" saying, using the Tilīgaram Story we raise that spirit. Casting off crises, we also use the Tilīgaram Story to cast off crises.

The crisis technique: One goat, two chickens, pine roots, two tree trunks, leaves of nine trees, water of nine springs, bringing them together, burial ground earth, cremation ghāṭ water, assembling all of that, one does the work. When it is the case that we have arisen from the Tilīgaram Story, arising, when the earth splits open, as it splits, from there throwing off the nine leaves, those leaves, lifting a winnowing tray to meet the main house beam, meeting it, the patient in that tray, we put in four pāthis of corn kernels, they sit in the tray, in a new piece of cloth the patient, if at all possible, wears a vest, if that's not possible, at least a hat must be made, after that, we get one measure of yogurt, being careful that the patient doesn't touch the ground, he's held up lifting, lifting, the patient drinks half the yogurt, we make that much, doing this, when he's been lifted nine times, on the ninth time the patient bites the tips of the leaves and discards them, having drunk that yogurt, saying, "Today the dullness is picked," that's what we do.
