ḍā̃phepātan The shaman's head-dress, which contains feathers of ḍā̃phe (monal pheasants-see noteš443), munal (tragopans), and kokilsāri (cuckoos), who are also the messengers in this story, above, and often other birds. Compare pattra (Skt.) "Leaf; feather."
