kāṭṭo khāne Refers to the practice of a Brāhman eating rice mixed with cremation pyre ashes as part of the final death ceremonies. The phrase is locally used as an insult for Brāhmans, equivalent to calling someone a "dog." (Jumlī: kāṭho, Devkoṭā V.S. 2027:9).
